What makes the Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero special?

The Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero provides one of the most unique smoking experiences possible.

Fans of lanceros know that it is typically difficult to keep them lit. One of the things that impressed us most about the Sans Pareil Super Lancero is that the construction is so flawless, it stayed lit for almost the entirety of the two and a half hours we enjoyed it.

Featuring Dominican tobaccos aged ten years with a rich San Andrés Maduro wrapper from the top 1 percent of the yield grown in Mexico, the Gold line tastes unlike anything else you have enjoyed.

Sans Pareil takes a number of steps to live up to its name, which means without equal in French. In addition to the minimum eight years of age the Gold tobaccos receive after several fermentations, the cigars are aged an additional two years after they are rolled. This dedication to aging helps Sans Pareil truly stand apart from other premium cigars. There is no wording on the elegant label: if you know, you know.

This is a cigar worthy of the most special occasion, or the one to enjoy when you simply need to experience something great.

What does our staff think of the Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero?

David Berkebile, Founder of Georgetown Tobacco

“The Super Lancero is a finely constructed cigar. For its length and ring gauge it stands out as a particularly unique shape that very few people can roll. And if I leave DC and drive to Philadelphia, it will last me the entire ride. All kidding aside, this is an exceptional cigar. The Gold Jeddo, while also well made, smokes entirely differently. It is very full-bodied and rich. For the right occasion, both are wonderful choices.”

Who is the Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero best suited for?

Don’t let the term “full bodied” scare you off of any particular blend. Body does not equal strength. When we refer to body, we’re talking about the richness, mouthfeel, and perhaps the amount of spice in a blend. These blends are often best enjoyed after a great meal, when you can truly appreciate the complex character of the cigar.

Consider these factors before selecting any cigar: What’s the occasion? Who will you be with? What kind of mood are you in? Have you eaten? What will you be drinking with the cigar? Putting some thought into those questions will guide you towards the blends that best complement that moment in time.

What can you tell me about Sans Pareil Cigars?

Sans Pareil is committed to the time and craft it takes to create an exceptional cigar. Every leaf used by Sans Pareil comes from only the top 1 percent of the yield of the farm.

Fermentation is a very labor-intensive process, and Sans Pareil tobaccos are not fermented just once, but several times. They believe this is essential to ensuring all imperfections are removed, creating a smoking experience without equal.

Founded by cigar aficionados who recognize the value of aging in the creation of exceptional blends, all Sans Pareil tobacco is aged for a minimum of seven years, and the cigars themselves are aged an additional two years after they have been rolled. Even the boxes were chosen to enhance the aging process, using Okoume wood over traditional Spanish cedar to ensure the flavor of the tobacco is the star.

Sans Pareil has partnered with Jochy Blanco of Tabacalera Palma, one of the most esteemed factories in the Dominican Republic, to accomplish their vision: a cigar experience based on vintage tobacco, using traditional Cuban shapes that truly stand apart from the field.

Why does Georgetown Tobacco carry Sans Pareil Cigars?

There are many cigars described as luxury today, but few that truly live up to the designation, or the price. Sans Pareil has earned its place in our humidor through exceptional construction, distinctive blends, and a remarkable smoothness that comes from the use of carefully aged vintage tobaccos.

Since we first introduced Sans Pareil to our customers, the response has been exceptional. It is a brand we are proud to carry and one we expect to stand behind for many years to come.

FAQ: Frequently asked questions about the Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero

+Is the Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero a good choice for someone newer to premium cigars?

Maybe… we generally recommend customers begin their cigar journey with mild to medium-bodied cigars. That said, if you enjoy bold flavors, take your coffee black, or relish a great single malt, a full-bodied cigar might be exactly what best suits your palate. Just be sure you’ve had something to eat first (seriously)… so the strength that often comes with a full-bodied cigar isn’t overwhelming.

+What pairs well with the Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero?

We like to keep it simple. If you like the cigar and you like the beverage, they likely go well together. That said, there is both art and science to pairing beverages and cigars, and our team of tobacconists has pooled their collective knowledge to create this comprehensive pairing guide.

+Is the Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero worth the price?

This is such a subjective and personal question to answer. What we can say is this: we think so, or we would not carry it. We carefully consider price along with many other factors before deciding what to bring into our humidors. While it may not fit every budget, we believe the character and construction of this blend will be appreciated by many of our customers.

+How long does it take to enjoy a Sans Pareil Gold- Super Lancero?

Size and shape play key roles in how long you will enjoy your cigar. While factors such as pace, tobacco density, and environmental conditions can affect burn time, certain cigar shapes generally require more time than others. See our guide on how long cigars last based on common cigar shapes, so you can choose the right cigar for the amount of time you have to enjoy it.

+How should I store this cigar?

Cigars are happiest in conditions that resemble the tropical regions where they were made: warm, humid, and consistent. For long-term storage, we recommend a quality cedar-lined humidor maintained at approximately 69 to 72 percent relative humidity and around 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep cigars away from direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes. With proper care, a well-maintained cigar will only improve with age.
