About This Pipe

The Paul Garmirian No. 2 Pipe is a handsome bent Billiard handcrafted in Saint-Claude, France, from fine Italian briar. Paul Garmirian pipes are produced at Chapuis-Comoy & Cie, the historic French pipe factory best known today as the maker of Chacom pipes.

Production is led by Managing Director Antoine Grenard, the sixth generation of his family to carry on the company’s pipe-making tradition.

The PG No. 2 bent Billiard combines graceful proportions with the characteristics that define the Paul Garmirian pipe collection: excellent smooth briar, cool-smoking performance, comfortable balance in the hand, and understated elegance.

About Paul Garmirian and Pipes

Paul Garmirian wrote the book on cigars—literally—but his appreciation for handcrafted pipes goes back nearly as far as his passion for premium cigars.

A pipe enthusiast since his youth in London during the 1960s, PG began building a collection of fine Dunhill pipes. He continued adding to that collection over the years as a longtime patron of Georgetown Tobacco.

Given the quality and consistency associated with Paul Garmirian cigars, it is fitting that PG turned to one of France’s historic pipe-making families when creating a pipe collection of his own.

During a 2014 trip to France, PG visited Antoine Grenard at Chapuis-Comoy in Saint-Claude, one of the historic centers of French pipe making. Grenard, himself an admirer of PG cigars, offered to produce a collection of pipes for him.

As PG recounts in his memoir, The Road to Cigars, the resulting pipes are made in France from Italian briar and “are reminiscent of my Dunhill collection in their quality…”

The collection comprises six shapes, bringing together French pipe-making tradition, quality Italian briar, and Paul Garmirian’s own appreciation for classic English pipe design.
