The Avo Expresivo was created as the next evolution for Avo cigars, and it’s 2026 release was timed to honor what would have been Avo’s 100th birthday. The Expresivo was honors Avo’s heritage: his passion for music, cigars and connection with a new approach to “Burn Brighter.”
The first Avo to be handcrafted in Honduras, this medium to full bodied blend uses tobaccos from three different terroirs. Each leaf in the blend uses higher primings and precise fermentation to bring out the most of each tobacco’s character. The result is an experience with intensity and harmony, much like Avo himself.
“I have a great memory of playing “Chopsticks” at the piano with Avo. He brought so much joy to our industry, and I can see his spirit reflected in this blend. It’s not a departure from what we know of as “Avo,” but an evolution.”
Teresa Wessling · Tobacconist · Georgetown Tobacco Team Member Since 1996
Medium bodied cigars are approachable to everyone, regardless of experience. They offer more body, flavor, and nuance than most mild cigars, and they pair well with just about anything. One of the greatest attributes of enjoying cigars is the opportunity to experiment and find the blends that truly resonate with you.
Consider these factors before selecting any cigar: What is the occasion? Who will you be with? What kind of mood are you in? Have you eaten? What will you be drinking with the cigar? Putting some thought into those questions will guide you toward the blends that best complement that moment.
Avo Uvezian, credited for composing “Strangers in the Night,” brought his passion for music and jazz piano to the art of cigar blending with the creation of his own brand. Avo teamed up with Henke Kelner from Davidoff to create his cigars, and with Davidoff’s hallmark ability to deliver consistent blends and exceptional quality over time, Avo cigars continue to be very popular among many of our customers.
Georgetown Tobacco was among the first retailers in the United States to be named a Davidoff Appointed Merchant in 1991, a relationship that reflects more than three decades of shared standards: deep product knowledge, meticulous quality control, and a genuine commitment to the customer.
As a part of the Davidoff family and a close friend of Paul Garmirian, Avo has long been a part of Georgetown Tobacco. That history and partnership mean when you order Avo from Georgetown Tobacco, you are ordering from people who know this portfolio exceptionally well.
