What makes the Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto special?

The Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto is the newest release in the celebrated Davidoff Black Band Collection, marking an exciting new chapter for the iconic luxury cigar brand. Introduced in 2026, this cigar delivers a full-bodied Dominican puro that combines the bold intensity expected from a black-banded Davidoff with the elegance and balance that define every Davidoff creation.

Inspired by the Dominican amber gemstone, a rare jewel formed deep within the island, the Puro Dominicano represents the richness and complexity of the Dominican Republic’s tobacco-growing heritage.

This exceptional cigar is crafted entirely from 100% Dominican tobaccos sourced from six distinct terroirs across the Dominican Republic. The tobaccos used in the blend carry a combined age of 32 years, resulting in remarkable depth, smoothness, and balance.

The Short Robusto vitola offers a concentrated expression of the blend’s character, delivering rich flavor and intensity in a shorter format that is perfect for a refined, satisfying experience.

The Davidoff Puro Dominicano showcases new shapes and flavor profiles not previously found in the Black Band Collection, standing as a proud tribute to Davidoff’s Dominican roots and blending mastery.

Who is the Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto best suited for?

Medium bodied cigars are approachable to everyone, regardless of experience. They offer more body, flavor and nuance than most mild cigars, and can pair with just about anything. One of the greatest attributes of enjoying cigars is the opportunity to experiment and find the blends that really resonate with you.

Consider these factors before selecting any cigar: What’s the occasion? Who will you be with? What kind of mood are you in? Have you eaten? What will you be drinking with the cigar? Putting some thought into those questions will guide you towards the blends that best complement that moment in time.

What can you tell me about Davidoff?

Blending Caribbean passion with Swiss precision, Davidoff has been creating exceptional cigars in the Dominican Republic since 1991. No cigar maker pays more meticulous attention to every detail of the manufacturing process, from seed to finished cigar. Of the 225,000 seeds that come from a single tobacco plant, only 10% make it through Davidoff’s quality control. Each leaf undergoes weighing before rolling to ensure every blend contains the exact same proportion of ingredients. Davidoff’s cigar rollers must have ten years of experience before they can work on the White Label cigars. The white band is the difference.

FAQ: Frequently asked questions about the Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto

+Is the Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto a good choice for someone newer to premium cigars?

Yes! While we might often recommend people begin their cigar journey with a mild blend, medium-bodied cigars are also a great place to start. There are so many great cigars to try, and we encourage you to explore a variety of blends to discover what resonates with you the most.

+What pairs well with the Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto?

We like to keep it simple. If you like the cigar and you like the beverage, they likely go well together. That said, there is both art and science to pairing beverages and cigars, and our team of tobacconists has pooled their collective knowledge to create this comprehensive pairing guide.

+Is the Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto worth the price?

This is such a subjective and personal question to answer. What we can say is this: we think so, or we would not carry it. We carefully consider price along with many other factors before deciding what to bring into our humidors. While it may not fit every budget, we believe the character and construction of this blend will be appreciated by many of our customers.

+How long does it take to enjoy a Davidoff Puro Dominicano- Short Robusto?

Size and shape play key roles in how long you will enjoy your cigar. While factors such as pace, tobacco density, and environmental conditions can affect burn time, certain cigar shapes generally require more time than others. See our guide on how long cigars last based on common cigar shapes, so you can choose the right cigar for the amount of time you have to enjoy it.

+How should I store this cigar?

Cigars are happiest in conditions that resemble the tropical regions where they were made: warm, humid, and consistent. For long-term storage, we recommend a quality cedar-lined humidor maintained at approximately 69 to 72 percent relative humidity and around 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep cigars away from direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes. With proper care, a well-maintained cigar will only improve with age.
