The Paul Garmirian “PG” 20th Anniversary Symphony- Salomones is a celebration of excellence in both shape and blend. A lengthy figurado, the P.G. Salomones is rolled only by those with the most experience in the factory, and this shape lends itself to even more nuance as the cigar burns.
The 20th Anniversary blend, created with Henke Kelner and Eladio Diaz, met P.G.’s request for a more complex, robust blend than the Gourmet Series. Using four complex fillers and a Havana seed binder, the 20th Anniversary also features a very rich, dark wrapper that sets this series apart.
P.G. shared a particular piece of music with Henke and Eladio to convey what he hoped the blend would become, and from that symphony, this incredible blend was born.
“Nicely placed between the Gourmet Series and the more full bodied 25th and 30th Anniversaries, the Symphony is a wonderful choice for midday or anytime you’re in the mood for something easy and smooth, but doesn’t compromise on flavor. I particularly favor the richness of the darker wrapper Dr. Garmirian uses for the Symphony.”

Medium bodied cigars are approachable to everyone, regardless of experience. They offer more body, flavor and nuance than most mild cigars, and can pair with just about anything. One of the greatest attributes of enjoying cigars is the opportunity to experiment and find the blends that really resonate with you.
Consider these factors before selecting any cigar: What’s the occasion? Who will you be with? What kind of mood are you in? Have you eaten? What will you be drinking with the cigar? Putting some thought into those questions will guide you towards the blends that best complement that moment in time.
Paul Garmirian wrote the book on cigars, literally. Published in 1990, The Gourmet Guide to Cigars is based on seven years of research, much of which was conducted here at Georgetown Tobacco. Soon after, we launched P.G.’s cigars in our store. Blended with Davidoff’s master blenders, Henke Kelner and Eladio Diaz, P.G.’s cigars are produced at the Davidoff Occidental cigar factory.
With an exceptional commitment to using only aged, quality tobacco and a further commitment to ensuring that his cigars are never on backorder, P.G. is the definition of a boutique cigar that withstands the test of time. You can now read the full story of P.G. in his memoir, The Road to Cigars.
Georgetown Tobacco was proud to launch P.G.’s first line of cigars, the Gourmet Series, from our store back in 1990. Having been a friend and customer since 1965, Paul spent many Saturday afternoons here while researching his book that started it all, The Gourmet Guide to Cigars. Made with impeccable quality standards and an emphasis on aged tobaccos, P.G.’s cigars are among the best to ever come out of the Dominican Republic, if not anywhere.
