About the Peterson P-Lip Stem

One of Peterson’s most famous innovations is the P-Lip mouthpiece, patented by company founder Charles Peterson.

Unlike traditional pipe stems, the P-Lip directs smoke upward toward the roof of the mouth rather than the tongue, helping deliver a cooler, smoother smoke and reducing the chance of tongue bite.

The stem on this pipe is crafted from vulcanite, a material preferred by many pipe smokers because it is softer on the teeth than acrylic or lucite stems. The gently rounded and graduated shape of the stem further enhances comfort during longer smoking sessions.
