About This Pipe Tobacco:
The Samuel Gawith- Commonwealth Mixture is one of their oldest and best known blends of Virginias and Latakia offering a full strength, classic English mixture with just the right amount of spice and sweetness.
Availability of Gawith tobaccos is so infrequent, we limit them to one per type per customer, so more people have the opportunity to enjoy them.
About Samuel Gawith Pipe Tobaccos:
Both Samuel Gawith and Gawith Hoggarth & Co can trace their origins back to Thomas Harrison (grandfather of Samuel Gawith the first) and Thomas Brocklebank, who set up a tobacco and snuff business in Kendal back in 1792.
In many of their mixtures, Samuel Gawith maintains the standards enforced by the United Kingdom’s strict purity laws of the 19th and 20th centuries — such laws dictating how much and what type of flavorings could be added to pipe tobacco and ensuring that sub-quality leaf wasn’t hidden under the veil of exorbitant toppings.
They continue to use some of the oldest operating machinery in the industry, now produced by the Gawith & Hogart Co.
