What makes the La Galera Imperial Jade Toro special?

The La Galera Imperial Jade Mayor is part of La Galera’s “Finest Selection.” With an exotic Cameroon wrapper and Dominican fillers you might expect a mild cigar with natural sweetness— but the Imperial Jade delivers more body, great flavor and each cigar we’ve enjoyed has had flawless construction.

Teresa Wessling, Tobacconist at Georgetown Tobacco, 19 years experience

“The La Galera Imperial Jade really took us by surprise. What Jochy has done with this Cameroon leaf is quite out of the ordinary. We’ve enjoyed other cigars with Cameroon wrappers, but this blend takes things in a different direction, delivering more body and a touch of spice. It’s unlike anything else we carry—and it’s quickly becoming a personal favorite.”

Who is the La Galera Imperial Jade best suited for?

Medium bodied cigars are approachable to everyone, regardless of experience. They offer more body, flavor and nuance than most mild cigars, and can pair with just about anything. One of the greatest attributes of enjoying cigars is the opportunity to experiment and find the blends that really resonate with you.

Consider these factors before selecting any cigar: What’s the occasion? Who will you be with? What kind of mood are you in? Have you eaten? What will you be drinking with the cigar? Putting some thought into those questions will guide you towards the blends that best complement that moment in time.

What more can you tell me about La Galera?

Why does Georgetown Tobacco carry La Galera?

We were first introduced to the craftsmanship of Tabacalera Palma through the Sans Pareil brand. After experiencing the exceptional quality of those cigars, we wanted to explore more of what the factory had to offer.

What we found in La Galera was a remarkably diverse portfolio of blends, each showcasing the same commitment to excellent construction, thoughtful blending, and outstanding value.

We set a high standard for every new brand we add to our humidor, and La Galera exceeded our expectations. We’re proud to recommend these cigars to customers looking for premium craftsmanship, whether they’re discovering the brand for the first time or adding a new favorite to their regular rotation.

FAQ: Frequently asked questions about the La Galera Imperial Jade

Yes! While we might often recommend people begin their cigar journey with a mild blend, medium-bodied cigars are also a great place to start. There are so many great cigars to try, and we encourage you to explore a variety of blends to discover what resonates with you the most.

We like to keep it simple. If you like the cigar and you like the beverage, they likely go well together. That said, there is both art and science to pairing beverages and cigars, and our team of tobacconists has pooled their collective knowledge to create this comprehensive pairing guide.

Yes. We carefully consider price along with many other factors before deciding what to bring into our humidors. La Galera is making great cigars at very reasonable prices.

Size and shape play key roles in how long you will enjoy your cigar. While factors such as pace, tobacco density, and environmental conditions can affect burn time, certain cigar shapes generally require more time than others. See our guide on how long cigars last based on common cigar shapes, so you can choose the right cigar for the time you have to enjoy it.

Cigars are happiest in conditions that resemble the tropical regions where they were grown: warm, humid, and consistent. For long-term storage, we recommend a quality cedar-lined humidor maintained at approximately 65 to 72 percent relative humidity and around 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep cigars away from direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes. With proper care, a well-maintained cigar will only improve with age.
