The La Galera Connecticut Pegador (Corona Gorda) proves that a mild cigar doesn’t have to be boring—and a great premium cigar doesn’t have to come with a premium price tag.
Wrapped in a silky Connecticut leaf over a Piloto binder and Criollo ’98 fillers, this blend from Tabacalera Palma delivers a smooth, balanced experience with the quality that comes from five generations of Dominican cigar-making expertise.
Every La Galera cigar we’ve enjoyed has impressed us with its excellent construction, thoughtfully crafted blends, and outstanding value. The Connecticut Pegador is no exception, making it an easy recommendation for those new to cigars and seasoned enthusiasts looking for an approachable, everyday cigar.
“The La Galera Connecticut reminded me just how enjoyable a mild cigar can be. It’s a testament to Jochy Blanco’s talent as a master blender, delivering flavor, balance, and refinement. As a huge fan of Sans Pareil (also from Tabacalera Palma), I was especially impressed to see that same commitment to craftsmanship, consistency, and construction throughout the entire La Galera line—all at an exceptional value.”

Convention dictates that mild cigars are great for beginners, or as something to enjoy in the morning. That said, we don’t care much for convention.
Consider these factors before selecting any cigar: What’s the occasion? Who will you be with? What kind of mood are you in? Have you eaten? What will you be drinking with the cigar? Putting some thought into those questions will guide you towards the blends that best complement that moment in time.
We were first introduced to the craftsmanship of Tabacalera Palma through the Sans Pareil brand. After experiencing the exceptional quality of those cigars, we wanted to explore more of what the factory had to offer.
What we found in La Galera was a remarkably diverse portfolio of blends, each showcasing the same commitment to excellent construction, thoughtful blending, and outstanding value.
We set a high standard for every new brand we add to our humidor, and La Galera exceeded our expectations. We’re proud to recommend these cigars to customers looking for premium craftsmanship, whether they’re discovering the brand for the first time or adding a new favorite to their regular rotation.
