What makes the Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural special?

The Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural is one of the blends originally produced only for Padrón family and friends. With tobaccos aged a minimum of ten years, this box-pressed robusto delivers a smooth, full-bodied experience with the exceptional quality we have come to expect from Padrón.

What does our staff think of the Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural?

Teresa Wessling, Tobacconist at Georgetown Tobacco, team member since 1996

“You know when a blend is something the Padróns were keeping ‘reserved’ for themselves before making them available to the rest of us, it’s going to be great. I really appreciate the smoothness that aged tobacco brings to a blend, and the Family Reserve are exceptional. I generally lean towards the #46 or the #85 in Maduro for a more full-bodied experience.”

Who is the Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural best suited for?

Don’t let the term “full bodied” scare you off of any particular blend. Body does not equal strength. When we refer to body, we’re talking about the richness, mouthfeel, and perhaps the amount of spice in a blend. These blends are often best enjoyed after a great meal, when you can truly appreciate the complex character of the cigar.

Consider these factors before selecting any cigar: What’s the occasion? Who will you be with? What kind of mood are you in? Have you eaten? What will you be drinking with the cigar? Putting some thought into those questions will guide you towards the blends that best complement that moment in time.

What can you tell me about Padrón?

The Padrón name has become synonymous with honor, integrity, and great cigars. Founded in 1964, José Orlando Padrón set out to create the cigars he appreciated in his native Cuba. Over 60 years later, Padrón has become one of the most respected brands in the industry.

The Padrón family understands the significance of time. They deliver only the finest handcrafted cigars with the flavor of the Cuban heritage out of which the Padrón recipe was born. Their primary mission is the exceptional quality of their product, not the quantity produced.

Why does Georgetown Tobacco carry Padrón?

Beyond the exceptional quality and consistency of their cigars, the Padrón family’s genuine commitment to honor and integrity make them exceptional partners. FAQ: Frequently asked questions about the Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural

+Is the Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural a good choice for someone newer to premium cigars?

Maybe… we generally recommend customers begin their cigar journey with mild to medium-bodied cigars. That said, if you enjoy bold flavors, take your coffee black, or relish a great single malt, a full-bodied cigar might be exactly what best suits your palate. Just be sure you’ve had something to eat first (seriously)… so the strength that often comes with a full-bodied cigar isn’t overwhelming.

+What pairs well with the Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural?

We like to keep it simple. If you like the cigar and you like the beverage, they likely go well together. That said, there is both art and science to pairing beverages and cigars, and our team of tobacconists has pooled their collective knowledge to create this comprehensive pairing guide.

+Is the Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural worth the price?

This is such a subjective and personal question to answer. What we can say is this: we think so, or we would not carry it. We carefully consider price along with many other factors before deciding what to bring into our humidors. While it may not fit every budget, we believe the character and construction of this blend will be appreciated by many of our customers.

+How long does it take to enjoy a Padrón Family Reserve- No. 85 Natural?

Size and shape play key roles in how long you will enjoy your cigar. While factors such as pace, tobacco density, and environmental conditions can affect burn time, certain cigar shapes generally require more time than others. See our guide on how long cigars last based on common cigar shapes, so you can choose the right cigar for the amount of time you have to enjoy it.

+How should I store this cigar?

Cigars are happiest in conditions that resemble the tropical regions where they were made: warm, humid, and consistent. For long-term storage, we recommend a quality cedar-lined humidor maintained at approximately 69 to 72 percent relative humidity and around 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep cigars away from direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes. With proper care, a well-maintained cigar will only improve with age.
